by Mitra Keselamatan Jalan Indonesia atau Indonesia Road Safety Partnership (IRSP) bersama Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Perhubungan (BPSDMP) Kementerian Perhubungan, serta Institute Transportation and Logistic (ITL) Trisakti menandatangani Nota Kesepahaman Bersama dengan Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) Selasa, 11 Agustus 2020 di Grand Ballrrom Bangi Resort Hotel Malaysia. Penandatangan pihak Indonesia diwakili oleh perwakilan KBRI Kuala Lumpur Dr. Mokhamad Farid Maruf dan ditandatangani langsung oleh Direktur Jenderal MIROS, Ir. Dr. Khairil Anwar serta disaksikan oleh Chairman MIROS, Datuk Suret Singh . Turut menyaksikan pula secara virtual Presiden IRSP Dr.Elly Adriani Sinaga, MSc, DIC, , dan Rektor ITL Trisakti Dr. Tjuk Sukardiman melalui aplikasi zoom.
Kepala BPSDMP Kementerian Perhubungan Ir Sugihardjo dalam sambutan singkat yang telah direkam sebelumnya menyampaikan ungkapan terima kasih dan harapannya agar MOU ini dapat merajut kerjasama sinergis serta kolaborasi yang saling menguntungkan antar berbagai pihak. Hal serupa disampaikan rektor ITL Trisakti Dr. Tjuk Sukardiman.
Nantinya MOU ini diimplementasikan dalam berbagai kegiatan seperti kolaborasi program diklat, pertukaran pegawai, pelajar dan peneliti, kolaborasi penelitian dan pengembangan, investigasi kecelakaan, inspeksi keselamatan, konsultansi , sertifikasi serta program-program peningkatan keselamatan jalan yang disetujui bersama. IRSP akan memfasilitasi kerjasama antara berbagai pihak dan menyiapkan Tenaga Ahli, BPSDMP Kementerian Perhubungan bersedia menyediakan infastruktur dan tenaga pengajar, MIROS akan mengolaborasikan program penelitian dan inovasi terkait keselamatan jalan serta memberikan asistensi dalam pengembangan keselamatan jalan, sementara ITL akan menyediakan tenaga dosen, serta peneliti.
Kerjasama ini tidak hanya menjadi pengungkit keselamatan jalan di Indonesia dan Malaysia namun lebih luas lagi dapat berdampak pula dalam peningkatan keselamatan jalan di Asia Tenggara. “Berlandaskan niat baik dan melalui komitmen yang kuat, kerjasama Indonesia dengan Malaysia ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keselamatan jalan secara regional”, pungkas Elly.
